Annette is a Family Court practitioner with 28 years’ experience. She has a broad Family Court experience in all aspects of family law but has a particular interest in rights based law. Annette has been a lawyer for subject person for many years and is very interested in law reform in the PPPR area. She is a trustee on the Wellington Welfare Guardianship Trust which is now a registered charity and hope soon to be able to provide trained volunteer welfare guardian for people where there is no other available suitable person. She is currently a District Inspector of Mental Health. Annette has an interest in inter-country adoptions and is interested in the developing law in that area. Annette is appointed as lawyer for children and acts for parties in all types of family court matters. Annette has not only confined her practice to Wellington and spent a year doing volunteer service abroad acting as legal counsel for the Family Support Centre, an NGO providing education and legal support mainly to women in domestic violence and child custody cases.

Annette is an accredited FDR mediator and enjoys working with families to resolve family disputes. This year Annette is Vice President for the Wellington branch of NZLS and council liaison for the Health Law Committee.

Annette enjoys presenting at seminars and conferences in her interest area of PPPR and medico-legal issues. This year she will present at the Medical Law Conference on Informed Consent and take part in the CLE roadshow seminars on the upcoming new amendments to the PPPR Act.
