Carl Stratton is General Manager Corporate Services of Fair Way, New Zealand’s largest specialist conflict management and dispute resolution organisation.

Carl is accountable for leading business strategy and all corporate services and functions within Fair Way, including financial management and reporting, digital technology, governance processes, people and culture, health and safety, and complaints investigation and privacy compliance.  Carl leads, motivates and inspires a broad team and the wider business to set and deliver outcomes necessary to see Fair Way excel in delivering and exceeding client expectations and continuing to improve contractor and staff engagement levels.

Carl is an experienced senior executive, with a history of working in complex commercial environments and providing leadership at strategic, organisational and functional levels.  He enjoys working in roles where the leadership of multidisciplinary teams with a broad range of accountabilities is critical to organisational success, and has been responsible for leading a number of projects delivering measurable operational and productivity improvements, including organisation wide culture change initiatives.  Carl has significant experience of engagement with Boards and senior management teams, including responsibilities for finance, governance processes, risk management and development and implementation of strategic business plans and budgeting processes.

Prior to joining Fair Way, Carl was the Chief Financial Officer at NZ Bus, New Zealand’s largest urban passenger transport business, where his most recent achievements included leading negotiations for contract terms and pricing with regional authorities securing the long-term sustainability of the business; and leading the internal workstreams for a strategic review of the business carried out by NZ Bus’ parent company (Infratil) that resulted in the sale of the business.  Carl is a Chartered Accountant, and formerly worked for KPMG.
