Genessa (Gess) is an Operations Manager for ACC Services at Fair Way and is based in the Christchurch region. With over 15 years operational and leadership experience, Gess says that she enjoys an authentic leadership approach and gets the greatest satisfaction from empowering her team to succeed in their greatest goals.

As part of her role, Gess manages the delivery of dispute resolution and review services for the lower North Island and in the South Island. With a big focus on excellent customer service, quality and consistency, Gess is responsible for daily operations and flow of work across the teams. Gess ensures that her team are well supported, provided opportunities to thrive and her door is always open for them. Gess is passionate about maintaining a great team culture which leads to a productive workplace and happy customers.

She has been with Fair Way since November 2016, previously in a Service Delivery Manager role working across a range of services. Gess joined Fair Way after 22 years working for New Zealand’s largest insurer where she gained extensive experience in claims management and quality assurance leading the nationwide Claims Operations. Gess has found a change of industry has been a refreshing way to further her development, learn new skills and utilise her existing skills within a new, exciting and very unique industry.

Gess has completed many leadership, coaching and business management qualifications over the years including project management and continuous improvement to continue to build on her skills and learn new approaches in a world of constant innovation and change.

In her spare time, Gess likes to keep active and enjoys participating in running, cycling and multi-sport events around New Zealand and overseas.
