Rebecca Goldsmith

Resolution Practitioner
Voice of Child Specialist, Commercial and private disputes, Family dispute resolution (FDR)

Rebecca is an experienced collaborative family court lawyer, who has worked with individuals, couples and groups for 8+ years in her legal role.

Rebecca believes a collaborative approach to legal dispute resolution is beneficial to all parties especially in the family court area. She enjoys facilitating an environment (in mediation and in legal practice) whereby two parties can work together to resolve their dispute as opposed to a conflict based approach that can leave all parties, including children of the parties at a disadvantage from the outset.  Rebecca has a firm belief that the objective when practicing collaboratively is not necessarily taking something from the other party but instead is to find a suitable compromise that may involve thinking out of the square that benefits everyone involved including children and wider whanau to some extent.

Rebecca is an Associate member and Family Dispute Resolution Panel List Member with the Arbitrators and Mediators Institute and through mediation is able to really put her collaborative law skills to good use and is always aiming to help families to find workable solutions that will suit all parties involved.

Rebecca is a Director, with her husband, of Pukekohe Electrical Limited and lives on a family farm in rural Auckland. In addition to her Law degree Rebecca also has a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Political Science and Philosophy.
