ELS is an independent, impartial, confidential and informal resource. I understand that the ELS office practices in accordance with the International Ombudsman Association Standards of Practice.
I understand that my visit and what is discussed as part of my visit is confidential and will not be revealed unless
- I agree; or
- It is required by law; or
- because there is serious risk of physical harm/health and safety to someone; or
- to protect property.
I understand that my visit does not put my organisation on notice (which means telling ELS about an issue is not the same as telling my organisation about the issue) and that the ELS office does not accept formal complaints or notice for my organisation. If I wish to put my organisation on “notice”, the ELS office can provide information on how to do so.
Please note if you request information held about you after you have finished talking to ELS, there may only be limited information held. This is because of ELS’s commitment to not keeping any identifying information or records about you or your concern.
