Commercial rent and lease disputes
Funded mediation and arbitration service now available
FairWay is pleased to announce it has been selected by the Ministry of Justice to provide dispute resolution services for commercial rent and lease disputes.
Starting from 25 September 2020, arbitration and mediation are now funded as part of the Government’s COVID-19 response.
“Many businesses have experienced a loss of revenue and struggled to meet their regular outgoings during the COVID-19 pandemic. Lease costs are often one of the largest operating costs for businesses, so it is great to have proven and efficient methods like arbitration and mediation available to help resolve lease disputes,” said Rhys West, CEO of FairWay.
Mediation is fully funded, and arbitration is subsidised for commercial lease disputes related to lockdown periods. For a six-month period, eligible businesses can avail of the Government scheme.
“FairWay has provided dispute resolution services for well over 20 years, so we are well placed with the right people and the right expertise to assist businesses through this challenging period,” said Rhys.
Interested businesses and commercial landlords are encouraged to contact FairWay for more information. We can assist them to determine if they are eligible and can engage with the other party as needed.
