Amanda is a child-centred practitioner with a background in mental health and school-based Mental Health intervention. She brings a calm, warm, and respectful approach to her work, with a strong focus on helping children feel safe, heard, and understood.

Amanda’s practice is guided by Te Ao Māori values, including manaakitanga (care and respect), whakawhanaungatanga (building meaningful relationships), and tikanga (culturally appropriate practice). She is committed to creating a space where children feel a sense of belonging and trust, and where their voice is valued.

Amanda has experience supporting children with a range of needs, including anxiety, neurodiversity, and those navigating change. She understands that children express themselves in different ways and uses developmentally appropriate approaches such as play, creativity, and conversation to support them to share their views in a way that feels comfortable.

She works in a way that upholds each child’s tino rangatiratanga, supporting their right to express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Her approach is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and responsive to the individual needs of each child and their whānau.
