Find an easier way to work through issues at work

As people with different life experiences, cultures and styles come together in a work environment, conflict and disputes can occur. It can be difficult to appreciate different perspectives and have difficult conversations in a positive way.

Employers across Aotearoa New Zealand partner with us to proactively improve wellbeing, build internal capability and positively address conflict. If your organisation is a member of our Kāpehu, Manawa Rahi or Speak Up services, you can access free support.

We also provide private dispute resolution services directly to individuals if you would like help to resolve conflict or address issues in your workplace. We help people at all levels in the workplace from directors on the board to CEOs to middle management and people within their teams.

Here are some of the ways we can help you.

  • Navigate issues at work

If your organisation has signed up for Kāpehu Coaching (also sometimes called Manawa Rahi), you can arrange free coaching sessions.

Kāpehu guides people through any issues they experience at work by supporting them to decide the next steps, and to develop the appropriate skills to know how to act. The service is independent from your workplace and completely confidential.

You can contact Kāpehu for any reason, for example if you need to have a difficult conversation with a team member or if you are feeling like you are being bullied.

Anyone experiencing a challenge can benefit from a conversation with Kāpehu –  including people-leaders and managers of all tiers. Kāpehu is a safe space to talk about work, create a plan and get guidance.

Once your organisation has signed up, as an employee you can contact Kāpehu directly to arrange one-on-one sessions with practitioners experienced in conflict resolution.

Speak up

  • Speak Up @ Fair Way

If your organisation has signed up for Speak Up @ Fair Way, you can contact us in a safe and confidential way to voice concerns about your workplace.

Speak Up @ Fair Way is a confidential, external complaints service. It helps you to raise any sensitive issues or concerns you have about behaviours or actions in your organisation.

    These might include:

    • Bullying or unwanted behaviour by other people
    • Concerns about breaches of the Code of Conduct or health and safety policies
    • Someone misusing your organisation’s money or property

When speaking up is encouraged and employees know they will not suffer for raising concerns in good faith about suspected misconduct, this supports an organisation’s reputation, success and ability to operate – both now and in the future.
