Barbara Mackenzie

Barbara embarked on her career in mediation/adjudication following the completion of a Diploma in Business Studies at Massey University in 1996. Over the years she has had diverse roles, starting with face-to-face mediation at Tenancy Services, the Accident Compensation Corporation and the Weathertight Homes Resolution Service.

In recognition of her training and expertise, Barbara achieved the designation of Fellow of the Arbitrators and Mediators Institute of New Zealand and served as an Advanced Panel member of the Resolution Institute, regularly contributing as a coach for their mediation training courses.

In the mid 2000s, Barbara took up a position at the Disputes Tribunal working at the Manukau Court, a position she held for a decade. Simultaneously, she continued to engage in private and public sector mediations covering a diverse range of practice areas. Barbara further extended her adjudication involvement by serving as a panel member of the Complaints Assessment Committee for the Real Estate Authority, fulfilling a five-year contract. Currently, she dedicates her efforts exclusively to Fair Way, working within its TDR Scheme to resolve telecommunication disputes.

In her leisure time, Barbara indulges in her passion for travel, exploring captivating destinations both within New Zealand and abroad, often embarking on hikes in off-the-beaten-path locations.
