Bridget is a counsellor based in the north of Auckland with over 10 years of experience supporting children, young people, and their whānau. She has worked in primary schools, private practice, community settings and with many children and young people whose families are experiencing separation, conflict, and change.

Bridget believes every child deserves the opportunity to have their voice heard. Bridget offers a warm, calm, and compassionate approach, helping children feel safe, relaxed, and understood. She is skilled at building trusting relationships with children of all ages and backgrounds and takes time to understand each child's unique personality, developmental needs, and communication style. Drawing on a range of creative and child-friendly strategies, including play, art, and a range of modalities, she creates an environment where children feel comfortable expressing themselves in ways that feel natural to them. Bridget is committed to ensuring children's views are communicated accurately, respectfully, and in a way that honours their experiences. She believes that when children are given a safe space to share their perspectives, their voices can make a meaningful contribution to family decision-making and help whānau to thrive.

Alongside individual counselling with adults and children Bridget also runs therapeutic groups for children experiencing changes in their lives which focus on attachment and child led communication. She supervises students within a community setting and provides a therapeutic lens to community based initiatives focused on mental health and wellbeing.

Outside of her professional role, Bridget enjoys spending time with her blended family of adult children, knitting and reading and also loves being outside and making the most of what the natural environment can offer.
