Daniela is a registered social worker within the Family Works community team with experience across a range of settings. She has recently completed a master’s in counselling.

For the past 5 years, Daniela has experience in providing therapeutic support to children and families around different challenges they might be going through, such as anxiety, emotional regulation and family support. She has an interest in supporting people through grief and coping with life changes, a curiosity that has arisen from her own lived experience.

Family Works supports whānau to build safer, more resilient, and connected, families/whānau and communities. Services are tailored to meet the needs of each child, young person, parent and whānau, while building on the strengths they already have. Informed by research and evidence, Family Works support people to reach positive solutions.

The modality Daniela uses most in practice is Solution Focused Brief Therapy. This is a present-future approach which looks at where you are now, what you might like to be different and a way to get there. Whether she's working with tamariki, rangatahi or whānau, Daniela is orientated towards asking questions that help people move towards what they want more of in their life.

Originally from Argentina, Daniela's main language is Spanish. She is able to provide counselling to clients in English and Spanish. She has been living in NZ since 2011. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, and spending time with family.
