Denise Johnston has extensive experience mediating disputes particularly family disputes and representing children’s rights and voices drawn from:
Over 12 years’ experience with families as a mediator and voice of child;
Over 16 years’ experience mediating;
Over 30 years practising law in family and criminal courts and for 7 years in youth court (now retired).
Although she has retired from the practice of law, her passion remains to empower decision makers to explore and understand all interests, including the interests of their children, generate options, evaluate those options and find agreement through mediation. She maintains and strengthens her skills through continuing professional development enjoying the collective learnings from a multi disciplined mediator practitioners’ group and courses and webinars with Resolution Institute.
Her career highlights are quite simply receiving feedback from those using FDR mediation that they felt supported, improved their communication, developed dispute resolution skills themselves, valued their children’s voices and found the best outcome.
