He advises public and private sector clients throughout the project lifecycle, with extensive experience in complex, high-value disputes and a range of dispute resolution processes, including litigation, arbitration, adjudication, mediation and negotiated settlements. His practice area is broad and includes insurance, company and general contract disputes.

Grant's legal practice focuses on helping clients navigate complex construction and property matters, from providing advice during major projects through to resolving disputes when they arise. He acts for a diverse range of clients, including Crown entities, ministries, regulatory authorities, body corporates, contractors and consultants. Grant takes a client-centric and commercially focused approach, investing time in understanding each client’s business, priorities and stakeholder relationships so that his advice is both technically robust and practical.

His experience includes advising on major Christchurch rebuild projects, significant construction arbitrations and adjudications, defective building claims, regulatory compliance matters, and bespoke project reset and settlement arrangements on projects of national significance.

Alongside his legal practice, Grant is an Adjunct Teaching Fellow at Victoria University of Wellington and contributes to the development and delivery of construction law and engineering papers at the University of Auckland and Auckland University of Technology. He is also a member of Infrastructure New Zealand, the Arbitrators’ and Mediators’ Institute of New Zealand and the Society of Construction Law.
