Jane is a Voice of Child Specialist and counsellor in private practice based in Motueka.
Jane offers a warm, calm and kind approach, helping young people feel relaxed, safe and understood. She is skilled at building trust and getting alongside children and young people in a natural way, often incorporating games and activities so that the process feels comfortable and engaging.
Jane listens carefully to children and young people and is genuinely interested in their perspectives. She gently supports them to express what is important to them and ensures their views are communicated clearly and respectfully within the mediation process. Jane is committed to representing children’s voices in a fair and considered way.
Jane has over twenty years’ experience in the counselling profession and has extensive experience working with families, children and young people. This includes working in schools as a Guidance Counsellor, as well as in a community stopping violence service where she provided education programmes and counselling for children, women and men. Through this work Jane has developed a strong understanding of family dynamics and child development.
In her current private practice Jane provides counselling for adults and young people, including ACC Sensitive Claims trauma therapy.
