As a mediator, Keri is passionate about empowering parties with coaching and tools to help them move forward.
Keri is Head of Family Services at FairWay, which includes resolving relationship property matters and Family Dispute Resolution. This is a key role with responsibility for innovating and leading FairWay’s suite of Family Services.
A major for focus for Keri is overseeing FairWay’s Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) service, which helps parents and guardians to design their own practical parenting agreements focused on the needs of their children. Keri’s experience as a mediator, and her capacity to build effective relationships together with her significant experience in operational management enables her to develop new policy initiatives and provide operational oversight for the scheme.
Keri works closely with social service providers, lawyers, counsellors, mediators and professional associations, to educate and promote FairWay’s Family Services both in terms of awareness of the positive outcomes being created and to develop the services across the wider community. This involves building awareness in the community and working alongside government agencies to help families access support services.
With experience in a range of mediations, including workplace disputes, Keri likes to challenge traditional prescriptive dispute resolution models, and encourage mediators to work with their clients to build their own capacity to resolve future disputes. Her mediation work draws on the experience she has gained working as a Senior Resolution Practitioner and Client Director at FairWay Resolution Limited and as a facilitator of the Parenting Through Separation course for Skylight. She also works as a Conflict Coach to assist people to prepare for their mediation.
Keri regularly presents on FairWay’s method of mediation at industry events in New Zealand, and has presented internationally. She has also had numerous articles published in the NZLS Family Advocate magazine.
Keri holds a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies (Dispute Resolution) from Massey University, is an AMINZ Fellow in mediation, an accredited FDR Provider and an accredited conflict coach.
