Rebecca is an AMINZ-accredited mediator and an Adjunct Instructor at the College of Law. Her professional background is in family law, with a particular focus on cases involving family violence. Through this work, Rebecca developed a strong interest in supporting parties to resolve disputes outside of the courtroom. This passion led Rebecca to retrain as a mediator, with a focus on helping people navigate conflict in a constructive and future-focused way. In addition to her mediation practice, Rebecca contributes to the development of future practitioners through her teaching role at the College of Law.

Rebecca brings a unique combination of legal expertise and mediation skills to her work. Her background in family violence provides a deep understanding of complex interpersonal dynamics, which informs her approach to dispute resolution. As a mediator, Rebecca prioritises creating safe, balanced, and culturally-appropriate environments where parties feel heard and supported. Rebecca holds a strong belief that, except in rare and exceptional circumstances, parents and whānau are best placed to make decisions for their children.

In addition to her professional roles, Rebecca balances her time with the demands and joys of family life, including keeping up with her three busy daughters.
