Rex was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in 2006, subsequently obtaining a Master of Laws from Victoria University.

Since 2007 Rex has been a full-time adjudicator, working in various civil law jurisdictions, including ACC, commercial, consumer, tenancy and unit titles jurisdictions.  Rex was also appointed as a Licensing Commissioner in Wellington, and prior to moving into the law, worked as a Registered Nurse.
