Scott Gazley

Scott is an experienced litigator. He regularly advises clients with complex commercial disputes in the areas of construction, negligence, property, and insurance law.  He also frequently gives advice involving trusts, professional negligence, company disputes, and regulatory investigations.

He has appeared as sole counsel in proceedings before the Court of Appeal, High Court, District Court and range of tribunals. He is also knowledgeable in alternative dispute resolution having conducted private arbitrations, mediations, expert determinations, adjudications, and negotiations.

He is a Fellow of the Arbitrators' & Mediators' Institute of New Zealand (AMINZ) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). He has a diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from CIArb. Several nominating authorities have appointed him as an arbitrator in domestic arbitrations in New Zealand. He has also received appointments as an adjudicator under the Construction Contracts Act 2002 (NZ) and is on the AMINZ panel of adjudicators. He also practices as a mediator and is on the AMINZ panel of mediators and has been appointed by the New Zealand Law Society (NZLS) to mediate commercial lease disputes.
