Senta Knapp provides specialist conflict resolution, therapeutic and mediation support to individuals, families, couples and communities in crisis.

As a mature practitioner, she is experienced in creating a safe space for clients to address the systemic, emotional and practical challenges associated with separation, co-parenting and blended families. Her expertise also extends to resolving conflicts related to principles and spirituality.

Senta has worked in diverse fields such as business, crisis mental health, domestic violence prevention, addiction and elder care.

Originally from South Africa and Germany, Senta has been living in New Zealand for 30 years. She is based in Howick.  Her services are available across the Auckland region, from Albany to Waiuku.

In her practice, Senta combines strategic thinking, compassion, and careful consideration to each unique situation. Her interventions are thoughtfully tailored to match the individual choices, capacities, and circumstances of her clients.

Senta believes that even when interests may differ, there are mutual financial and emotional benefits to be gained by opting for the right out-of-court and court resolution processes. Her goal is to ensure that her clients achieve the most effective and advantageous outcomes through skillful mediation and conflict management.

Senta spent her early years in South Africa where she worked as a business strategist in the advertising industry. In 1994 she was appointed to work alongside political leaders during the country’s first general election where she experienced first-hand the many political and social challenges that such big transitions bring. She also became acutely aware of the significant role that systemic and personal trauma plays in decision making processes. Inspired to work in conflict resolution, she retrained to work in the mental health sector to support people in crisis.

To equip herself with the necessary expertise, Senta pursued formal training in counselling, consciousness, mediation and negotiation modalities. Her education was acquired through the Institutes of Psychosynthesis, Process Therapy, the Academy for Future Science and the Harvard Programme of Conflict Resolution and Negotiation.

Senta is also a member of a conflict resolution group for professionals, founded on the principles of Process Therapy. Additionally, she holds the status of an AMINZ Associate and is a registered FDR Mediator.  Senta also facilitates Parenting through Separation and relationship, communication and conflict resolution training.
