Stephen is a Senior Resolution Practitioner working in the Commercial Services team at Fair Way. He has had a long career in public and private sector Dispute Resolution and Mediation in New Zealand and overseas.
Most recently, he has been a mediator in the Wellington office of Employment Mediation Services, in the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). In this role, he undertook a broad ranging mediation caseload with expertise mediating ongoing relationship issues and cross-cultural cases. He has had a specific focus on proactive early intervention mediations and educative responses to employment disputes including expertise mediating vaccine mandate issues.
He previously worked with World Vision International as an international peace-building specialist in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. In this role, he has supported teams and communities to re-build relationships and work together more effectively in some of the world’s most complex and challenging contexts.
Stephen says that he enjoys having the opportunity to use his skills and experience in preventative, educative and learning processes that enable parties to take a long-term view of their entire working and commercial relationships. His aim is to train, coach and support parties to find a space where their relationships can flourish, and where communication, teamwork and trust building can be strengthened.
