Jennifer Hetherington

Jennifer is an experienced Mediator and Parenting Coordinator, with a background as a Lawyer specialising in family law, including Collaborative Divorce.

She is accredited as a Family Dispute Resolution Provider in both Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. Her 26 years’ experience as a family lawyer has taught her that mediation is a far better option than mediation for 99% of families experiencing separation.

She believes that every child should have an opportunity to see their parents dance together at their wedding – or at the very least, be able to be in the same room.

Jennifer combines her skillsets and decades of training and experience to assist separated parents reach agreement about their children. Her experience as a Parenting Coordinator helps her identify where things can go wrong, helping her to ‘reality test’ parenting agreements to ensure they are practical and workable.

Jennifer has worked in family law for 26 years.  She is firmly committed to non-court resolution of matters. 

She is a keen All Blacks supporter but does not pretend to know all the laws of rugby.
