Fiona Lankshear

Fiona's working career has consisted of supporting and walking alongside children and young people, within a variety of different settings throughout New Zealand. She is passionate about ensuring their voices are heard and they are informed of their choices and options that are available to them, which has led to this role as a Voice of Child. 

She likes to provide a space where people feel relaxed, and brings a calm approach while also having some fun. Her hope for the people she works alongside is for them to feel included and validated in who they are and what they bring. 

Fiona has spent a significant portion of her career as an outdoor instructor in Auckland, where she had the privilege to share her love of nature with others. She then went onto to study social work as she wanted to support not only the individual but their wider context including whanau. Fiona has worked with a variety of ages, within different sectors like foster care, schools, primary to tertiary and within community agencies.
