Juliet Philpott

Juliet is a workplace investigator and also a barrister, based in Wellington. She has been practising law for more than 20 years. She is also a trained mediator. 

Juliet is experienced in understanding and resolving complex disputes. She is empathetic, clear-eyed, and quick to distill and understand relevant information to identify key issues and reach pragmatic solutions. In her role as a barrister, Juliet specialises in administrative and public law matters. She is adept at identifying and solving problems for her clients and her career has been spent advising public entities on lawful and effective decision-making. She advises clients in a range of sectors, and her clients include government ministries and departments, crown entities and other statutory bodies, local councils and entities regulated by government. 

Juliet has practised law in Melbourne and London, as well as Wellington. Having worked in law firms in these jurisdictions, she joined the independent bar in 2020, and practises from Hawkestone Chambers in Wellington. Juliet has a husband, a teenager and a tweenager as well as a beloved golden retriever Rosie. She is a trustee of the Turnovsky Endowment Trust which provides funding for arts organisations, as well as a director of Goodnature, a pest-control company based in Wellington.
