Fair Way welcomes Hinemoa Dixon

Fair Way is pleased to announce the appointment of Hinemoa Dixon as Cultural Capability Lead and Senior Resolution Practitioner.

Hinemoa is experienced in developing and providing culturally responsive services for te ao Maaori. Most recently, she was a Senior Employment Mediator in the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) where her role involved building capability and capacity in te ao Maaori me ona tikanga. Hinemoa was awarded Te Tohu Ratonga Tūmatanui o Aotearoa (the New Zealand Public Service Medal) in 2021.  

Her whakapapa links on her father's side are Waikato – Tainui, Ngaati Hauaa me Ngaati Wairere. On her mother's side are Ngaapuhi nui tonu, Ngaati Hineamaru, Mahurehure me Ngaati Whakaue.

Fair Way’s Head of Practice Samantha de Coning will be working closely with Hinemoa to further develop our practice strategy and build upon the cultural capability of our team.

Over the past two weeks, Hinemoa has been meeting with members of the team and learning about the organisation. Already, she says she feels right at home.

“I’m enjoying learning about the Fair Way way of life and the many services we provide. In meeting the amazing members of our Fair Way whaanau, I have seen and felt the high level of manaakitanga and aroha to and for each other, as well to clients we serve. I look forward to the on- going opportunities that lay ahead in my role and for FairWay. Ka nui te tino mihi atu, ki a koutou katoa. Mauri ora,” says Hinemoa.

Alongside her mahi supporting Fair Way to continue developing its cultural capability, she will continue to practice as mediator particularly in commercial and private disputes, for employment and work-related matters, and for any parties who would like to use a tikanga approach to navigate their conflict.
