Family Services Manager

Auckland or Wellington

We are looking for a Family Services Manager to join our passionate and dedicated Family Services team, who gets satisfaction from the difference they make in the lives of families each day. 

Our Family Services is in an exciting period of growth, at a time when New Zealand is experiencing pressure to change to provide better care for families.  Much of our current service is Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) and is available to anyone who has a dispute relating to the care of children.  We work hard to create a service that reduces the stress on families involved in disputes leading to effective resolution for children and their families.

This new role offers you an exciting combination of managing a dedicated service delivery team, while exploring new business opportunities and selling the benefits of family services to prospective clients. It is a key management and people leader role, responsible for managing, supporting and guiding our team of coordinators and the services they provide to families.

In addition, this role is responsible for assisting the Head of Family Services with account management and technical support for family service/s and growing the wider family services. In particular – growing the area of wills, estates and elder care disputes.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

  • Relevant and demonstrable experience working within professional services and/or customer service and/or operational support related areas successfully leading high performance teams
  • Experience working with families particularly in the justice sector with a preference for a legal background
  • Proven authentic leadership skills (ideally managing service teams) with empathy and innovation
  • Relevant family legal training and/ or experience
  • Experience with client management, and business development
  • Existing or potential for relationships within the family sector including iwi.
  • Business networks in the social services and / or legal sector
