Megan is a counsellor who is based in Matamata and previously comes from an education background. Megan’s role is to meet with the child/children involved in the dispute and hear what their experiences are and what they would like as an outcome.
In her work as a counsellor and as a Voice of Child specialist, the relationship is at the centre of Megan’s practice. She aims to make the people that she works with feel safe and valued. Megan aims to create a space that is free of judgement and allows for open and honest conversations to take place.
Megan has worked full time as a counsellor for the past 5 years. During this time, she has worked with children, teenagers and adults to help them unpack a variety of life experiences. Prior to her work as a counsellor, Megan taught in a West Auckland high school and worked in a variety of volunteer roles across the wider Auckland area. Megan has now settled with her family in Matamata where she plans to continue her counselling work there.
