Michelle Urquhart is an experienced legal professional, workplace investigator and mediator based in Rotorua. With a background in law, business administration, and mediation, she specializes in resolving and advising on workplace disputes and issues. Michelle has been recognized for her expertise in employment law and is an active member of the Arbitrators and Mediators Institute of New Zealand.

Michelle brings a practical, dynamic and solutions-focused approach to her work. People need to feel safe and be given time to bring light to their concerns, and Michelle’s approach is to work hard to accommodate those needs. She focuses on offering a range of solutions from proactive early intervention strategies to mediating complex disputes to self-determined outcomes, depending on the individual needs of the parties involved.

Beyond her legal practice, Michelle is deeply involved in industry and community initiatives with extensive experience in not for profit governance. She serves as the National Chair of Scouts Aotearoa, Vice President of the Rotorua Chamber of Commerce, and has contributed to various mediation and legal education programs throughout New Zealand. She has travelled widely, and coupled with her experience in immigration law she has a particular interest in assisting those from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.
